nearing the end of 2016

Happy holidays, y'all! We are somehow staring down the end of the year with less than three weeks until Christmas -- which also means our final wedding of the 2016 season. We are closing out 2016 with a big ole' wedding bang:  Lauren & Chris' downtown Nashville New Year's Eve wedding!!! You can expect to see many sparkles, confetti flakes, balloons, and candles galore shared as we close out the year and enter into one of our most exciting wedding years yet. 2017 is shaping up to be busy, beautiful, and a new pace for Kelly Dellinger Events.

Personally, I'll be giving birth to our second child (another girl - Julianna Cate!) in late winter. For this reason, we have not taken on any weddings for production in January - April. We will also be halting in-person consultations for the month of March (as we adjust to live as a family of four and I recover physically -- not to mention soak in all those newborn snuggles! Swoon!). Then we'll be back in the saddle and ready to take on our whirlwind of 2017 weddings!!!! *heart eyes*

We're SO excited for our roster of 2017 clients -- couples from Arizona, Chicago, Atlanta, and our own backyard of Nashville will be getting married at stunning venues like Ruby, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Richland Country Club, Belle Meade Plantation, and a private estate in Owensboro, Kentucky!

2016 was a great year -- full of challenges, new lessons learned, some incredible people met, really amazing travels, and obviously the growing of our family. I'm looking forward to recapping our eventful 2016 wedding season here on the blog in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned for that!

I'll leave you with these family photos my dear friend Amy Cherry did for us in September. Wishing you & yours the merriest of Christmases and a very happy close to your year!

while we were away

Much happens in the span of two months in the wedding world, especially in peak wedding season of May & June! I've been taking some much-needed time away, learning how to parent a brand-new baby, keeping up with doctors visits and health concerns, spending time with family, and finding a new normal in daily life. We definitely don't have a perfect routine set up yet and business most certainly got pushed to the backburner (although I learned it's near impossible to completely step away when you own your own). However, my goal of Lilly & I surviving the months of May & June has been accomplished (HOORAY!), and we are easing back into more normal biz operations at last! Thank you all for your understanding and patience in my sloooooow response times (or lack thereof, for any new inquiring clients!)... I know it can be frustrating, but this time has been so necessary and is so appreciated! :)

We are resuming scheduling meetings and taking on new clients starting today -- Monday, July 6. This leave period has allowed us to see what works and what doesn't. Trying new things always entails some growing pains and lotsssss of learning, so there will likely be some structural changes that go into action in the coming months as we transition back into a new modus operandi!

In the meantime, here are some pictures from our two gorgeous May weddings!

My husband Drew & I welcomed our darling daughter, Lillian Elizabeth, into the world on April 23, 2015 at 10:23pm. Weighing 8lbs 9oz at 20.5 inches long, she has stolen our hearts completely.

As I spend the next two months taking in this precious time adjusting to motherhood, all forthcoming emails will be automatically forwarded to our new office manager, Mary Catherine. You may contact her directly at hello@kellydellingerevents.com or by phone at 205.639.7022.

Please note that we will temporarily not be taking on any new planning or consulting clients until after my return to the office in July 2015.

We look forward to reconnecting with everyone this summer!

april life updates

Well, I absolutely fell off the face of the planet these past few months, as I'm sure you are well aware! Spring weddings + preparing for maternity leave + growing a human have been all-consuming -- not to mention some work/personal travel scattered in and the execution of one absolutely gorgeous March wedding!

Life? Insanity. Faster than ever. How is it past the halfway mark of April? Two years ago at this time I was gearing up to go out of the country for a spontaneous early-anniversary vacation. One year ago I'd just wrapped up Lauren & David's beautiful 30s-inspired wedding. This year, I'm finishing childbirthing classes and attending showers and anxiously awaiting the arrival of my future daughter who seems to be coming sooner than later (regardless, she'll be here by the end of the month! Gasp!).

We have three stunning weddings coming up next month at a gorgeous luxury barn, a 1920s train station-turned-upscale-hotel, and botanical gardens. My hands have been FULL in preparation for these lovely events, and my calendar brimming with planning appointments. All three of our May couples are planning from out-of-state, which poses its own set of challenges in scheduling around travel opportunities (February was quite the debacle, with all of Nashville's snowstorms and subsequent flight delays/cancellations!). We've done a good deal of Skype here lately!

Last month we wrapped up Nicole & Nick's gorgeous, glamorous Country Music Hall of Fame wedding and traveled to South Carolina to execute the editorial shoot of my dreams. It's hard to wrap my mind around all that's been going on here in the past few months!!!

Springtime has gloriously been celebrated. Warm weather and (mostly) sunny skies were much welcomed (I have potted flowers and plants ALL OVER our house right now) and outdoor entertaining has resumed its place in my heart and everyday life. Praise the LORD! I can't believe Easter's already come and gone. (And still I managed to not accumulate even one bunny decoration. My Easter holiday decorations are tragically minimal.)

GOALS:

Prepare everything to an optimal level of organization to ensure smoothest transition to maternity leave for May weddings. My ever-capable planner Katie will be taking over my role for the months of May & June; just got to get everything transitioned over to her first!

Prepare life for the impending arrival of Miss Lillian Elizabeth. Detail car, restock pantry/household goods, prep a couple of freezer meals, organize the nursery, rewire the ceiling fan/light to a dimmer switch, attend final baby shower, send off thank-you notes in a timely manner, prep birth announcements, sew a hospital gown (maybe), and get adequate sleep. Doesn't that sound like an oxymoron?

Deliver a healthy, happy baby. 'Nuff said.

Figure out what life looks like. So many cha-cha-cha-changes in these parts!

Here's to spring with its new beginnings!

We couldn't be more tickled to be featured on Coastal Bride today for our sailboat editorial shoot with Ian Riley last August! This was one of my most favorite shoots to plan and design of all time -- not to mention, sailing and styling pretty things in the sunshine is definitely my favorite way to spend the workday!

You may recognize a face or two, as well. Our own Associate Planner, Katie, starred as our Bride (along with her real-life boyfriend James as the groom)!

See more at Coastal Bride!

quiet

Hustle, hustle, hustle. September's feeling just as crazy as May did this spring. New bookings, planning for spring 2015 weddings, finalizing details and timelines and confirmations for fall 2014 weddings. These five fall weddings are going to send 2014 out with a bang! I have an amazing team of 4 event assistants to make sure everything goes out without a hitch, but in the meantime that means I'm up to my neck in preparations and managing people.

Despite the hustle, there's so much excitement and happiness and overall joy permeating the air. I'm taking deep breaths, honoring sacred weekend time off from work (since it is LIM.I.TED.), and then getting back to the bustle day after day. Hence the quietness over in these here parts.

We're still inspired. We still can't WAIT to share some of the perfect recent weddings lining our portfolio. And we can't wait to show off some of the fabulous work we're doing behind the scenes right now.

revivalist

Two of my favorite people (seriously some of the most visionary and unbelievably stylish individuals) just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their insanely lovely fashion brand, REVIVALIST. I love the message behind the brand, the faith that has influenced the conception of it, the gorgeous vintage-inspired actual clothing line, and especially the ladies who have made it all come together!

You should absolutely check out their promo video and consider supporting them to hit their goal! So excited for these two and happy to be a backer for REVIVALIST!!
