We couldn't be more tickled to be featured on Coastal Bride today for our sailboat editorial shoot with Ian Riley last August! This was one of my most favorite shoots to plan and design of all time -- not to mention, sailing and styling pretty things in the sunshine is definitely my favorite way to spend the workday!

You may recognize a face or two, as well. Our own Associate Planner, Katie, starred as our Bride (along with her real-life boyfriend James as the groom)!

See more at Coastal Bride!

Happy Valentine's Day week!!!! I love love love the holiday of love (red and pink are my faves, dark chocolate is my jam, and I'm all about the frou-frou, of course). This year I got to celebrate a little early by designing five gorgy tablescapes for any lovely layperson to recreate for a fab V Day night in! Who really wants to spend a billion dollars on a crowded chain restaurant dinner and get a box of chalky chocolates? Not this lady!

Instead, I'd be totally happy with any of these lovely layouts, designed by yours truly and featured on the delightful Relish blog.

Poodles and Paris and pinks, oh my!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Words cannot express how thrilled I was to have my work featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs (one I've followed for years and years!)... 100 Layer Cake! Working with W&E Photographie was an absolute joy and pleasure -- Emma's vision for a wintry, lovely, Northwest-inspired cabin wedding turned out just stunning when it came to fruition.

featured:: i love farm weddings:: simple lovely ideas article

This week I had the pleasure of contributing to the I Love Farm Weddings blog! As a former "barn bride," this was totally up my alley!

Here's an excerpt! You can read the article in full here:)

Farms all over the world, especially within the Southern United States, have been popping up as fully-functioning event venues and couples are booking them like crazy! There is something so classic, homegrown, and relaxed about saying “I do” and dancing ’til dawn in a barn or open field. It evokes memories from childhood for many and gives a well-deserved nod to one’s heritage.
What’s even lovelier is the openness of possibility in planning and styling a wedding of this sort! At first, a lot of people think immediately of mason jars and shabby chic — vintage furniture, mismatched place settings, and quilts; an overload of burlap and lace. While that has been the trend for a few years now, there is so much more you can do in a farm atmosphere!! Instead of regurgitating the same-old typical “farm wedding” you see countless times on Pinterest, why not go for something polished and fresh with that same laid-back feel? Use rich colors and textures — quality over quantity! — to simplify your wedding vision and bring the focus back to the gorgeous natural features of your wedding venue (and the whole reason why the farm feel appeals to you!). A beautiful, sumptuous table linen with simple but richly colored floral centerpieces will make much more of an impact than a cluttered table topped with a thousand antique knickknacks and burlap-covered votives that really mean nothing to you personally. Perhaps you could incorporate beautiful herbs and produce (maybe even from the farm itself?!) in with the florals! I’ve seen stunning arrangements mixing farmer’s market-fresh peaches and garden roses galore. And the colors cabbage comes in are divine!

Much thanks to Emily for letting me contribute! :)

featured:: Vera Wang Unveiled:: brittany & jeff's real wedding

Words cannot express how excited I was this afternoon to see last year's full planning clients Brittany & Jeff's wedding featured on the Vera Wang Vera Unveiled Blog! Brittany and Jeff's wedding was one very dear to me -- not only were they some of the most WONDERFUL full planning clients I've had the joy to work with, they're also dear friends of mine from college years! Brittany is one of my sorority sisters (and one of the major reasons why I decided to go Greek:). While she has the looks and figure to make any dress shine, she looked absolutely dream-like in her perfect wedding gown --  Vera Wang's stunning "Velvet Roses."

Working with Brittany for over a year, it was evident from Day One that she didn't care much for the traditional "bride" experience. She wanted a FABULOUS party, chock full of a lot of people having a really good time. But as far as intricate centerpieces and trying on a thousand veils go, she had more important things to think about.

I think that's why the Vera Wang gown she decided upon was so perfect for her -- it was classic and stunning but not overly fussy or "bridal." It was figure-flattering on her tiny frame and had BEAUTIFUL little details (like the rosettes and tulle bow in the back) that left guests Ooohing and Ahhhing from every angle.

YAY for matches made in wedding-gown heaven!

Much thanks to Elizabeth Glessner for all the gorgeous documentation of the day!
